I had read a small blurb about this place in 5280 and since we lived so close we thought we'd give it a whirl. The menu looked great and the photos looked nice online. I called for reservations and had to leave a message and never got a return call which should have been my first warning. We went anyway and decided to sit at their bar tables, we were greeted when we came in and that was about it. We sat for about 5 minutes without so much as a hello, one waiter then said we were in so and so's section and he'd be right over, another 5 minutes went by and he never came so the hostess then asked if we'd been helped, we again said no and she assures us someone would be with us, another 2-3 minutes went by and finally we were so worn out by waiting we left. I can't speak for the food but the service was awful and it's too bad because it looks like a really nice place with an interesting menu, especially for the suburbs. Too bad, but had a great meal next door at Taste of Mexico. **After having written the review above both the manager and owner contacted me to apologize about the service. I can definitely appreciate them trying to remedy the situation and wish them nothing but success. We will definitely have to try again, hopefully service is better next time and the food is as great as it sounds!

My girlfriends/sisters and I have tried this several times for happy hour and have enjoyed ourselves, so we thought it would be really fun to eat here on Mothers Day, ESPECIALLY after the review we read in the CPN community newspaper regarding the owner being the chef from a fav of ours...Linger! Wow! What a DISASTER! Our reservations were at 12:30 and we sat there for an hour and a half before receiving ANY kind of food. My sister and her husband received their food (which was not very tasty), and that was it! My husband had to get up and have a "conversation" with the servers, and we were told that "the kitchen crashed". There are WAY too many details to put on here, but all I can say is that, if the owners were trying to "make a name" for themselves here in Castle Pines, they have failed miserably! It was very shocking to hear from the servers, that the owners were not even here on this day! No one was in control (that was QUITE obvious), and I think it's appalling that, for a restaurant that has only been open for 7 months, there should have been some serious management to help out this poor understaffed restaurant. Not ONCE did any Manager come and apologize to us. Our server, comped our entire meal, but honestly, I would have rather paid for a good meal. I'm so beyond disappointed that our Mothers Day was ruined. My little ones were so patient, and when they received their pancakes and french toast, they were under cooked, and burned! IHOP or Denny's would have been WAY better!!! I will NOT be returning to this restaurant any time soon. This experience was one of THE WORST we have EVER had and I'm just so sad that it happened. We wanted The Social to succeed because we don't have many choices here in CP, but this is simply not an option.

We live in Castle Pines Village, is had great hopes for this restaurant, The food is actually pretty good, but a limited menu which hasn't changed since the restaurant opened last July. However, it's downfall is the service is usually fair to poor. Last night was the straw that broke the Carmel's back when we stopped in for a drink at 7:30. The restaurant was 1/2 full, yet we waited over 10 minutes while wait staff scurried around us. Finally we got up and left. Before we were out the door, staff was straightening out the bar stools where we had sat. We asked to speak to the manager, but she couldn't take the time to come over and see us (she was sitting In a booth). I was more than willing to over look the growing pains, as I would really like to have ago-to restaurant in the neighborhood, less than 2 miles from my house. However, for the pice and lack of service, there are much better choices within a10 minute drive. Sorry Social. There are a lot of folks out here would would like to see you make it.

Went here for a girls night out last month. The decor is hip and we enjoyed the ambiance and the comfortable half circle booth. The server was attentive and knowledgable. However at $20-30 an entree we just weren't wowed. I had the steak lettuce wraps and while the flavor combination was nice, the strips of steak in the wraps had a layer of fat around the edges. I had to cut the fat off of each slice of steak and then cut the steak into bite sized pieces before I could enjoy my lettuce wraps. Kind of a bummer. The only stand out of the night was the roasted brussel sprouts which were to die for. This place has potential but as of now the prices are just too high for the quality and quantity of food you get.

Sad to watch the degradation from delicious innovative fresh dishes to really bad country club food. When Social first opened, I could take out of town guests and business associates (who are used to eating at the best restaurants in Chicago, NY or LA) and we all loved it...service kind of sucked but the food was great! Now the menu is your depressing standard of filet, salmon, roast chicken etc. I opted for the Thai chili chicken breast with peanut sauce and pork belly. Sounds interesting right? Nope! It was a dried out chicken breast with some red spice resembling chili on it- no sign of peanut sauce. Chicken was dry as jerky. The pork belly was not edible. My smoked Gouda grits were missing the smoked Gouda. Only part of my meal that was ok was the carrots. Pretty hard to screw up a steamed carrot! This place has reverted back to a reincarnation of "Rodney's" that used to occupy this space. There's a reason that went out if business. So sad! I was really excited about finally having great food in my hood. Will NOT return and was embarrassed to be hosting friends there.

Oh dear, I wanted so much to like The Social on our second visit since the first was when it had just opened and had been a disappointment. Our second go of it was no better. We were a party of six and were there for about 3.5 hours, and not because we wanted to, but because everything took forever and/or was not correct. We were brought the wrong bottle of wine twice, wrong beer a few times, one salad never came at all, salmon was raw, two filets that were ordered medium came bloody with the wrong sides and I can't even be sure the cuts of meat were actual filets at all. The kicker was dessert; we ordered one cheesecake and two strawberry shortcakes and got 3 cheesecakes that were frozen solid. When the bill came, two of our $28 bottles of wine were somehow $60 each and who knows what else was wrong since everything read "open food" instead of the actual item. I am afraid this new restaurant is not going to make it, not the way it is currently running. The food tasted good but that is not going to carry this place much longer.

After having brunch (and loving it) I decided to bring my wife here for her birthday dinner a few days later. First off our waitress was Great! The hosts not so much. When I checked in I noticed there was no table set up for a group of nine which is fine as some restaurants wait for the party to show up before changing things around in case the party no shows. So I check in. The hosts says go ahead and sit where you'd like.? I was a little confused as I didn't see a table that could fit 9, but it's my wife's birthday so we try to squeeze in rounded table in the back that is probably more suited for a party of 6. We tried to make it work and when she (the hosts) noticed we were struggling to fit (we were still waiting on 3 more to arrive) she suggested that we sit our 10 month old in the corner. Our server came to the table and immediately realized the error and pushed a couple 4 tops together, seating issue solved! Now for the food. Pork belly dish was a good appetizer and made its way to our table fairly quickly and tasted great (probably too much chickpea, but whatever). It took 45 minutes for our entrees to come out after we finished our appetizers, my mothers salmon was cold and my medium ribeye was charred( the temp was medium but the outside charred), one our quests ordered his steak mid well ( no clue why someone orders steak that temp) and I thought that's what was taking our order so long, but his steak came out medium. Lastly a friend who was unable to attend dinner with us stopped by the restaurant early to leave a gift for my wife and we never received it.

First impression is fresh, energetic and hip. The room is marked improvement from the predecessors, Rodney's and The Grill. But that is where the good news ends. The staff are unfriendly, the menu is uninspired and the prices are over the top. I will pay handsomely for quality but this is bordering on robbery. Next - this one will go the same direction as the rest. Wait until a new owner moves in - it won't be long!

Great Atmosphere, great people and great time. Our life is busy, so having The Social close by is a great convenience. The menu is diverse so we don't get tired of their selections. We appreciate their wine selection and personal attention. We call it our home away from home.

What an oasis this place is! I was visiting family over the holidays and The Social was walking distance from the house. We came in for happy hour drinks and after a few carafes of wine were surprised to see the bill to be 20-something bucks. The staff and whom we presumed to be the owner were very welcoming and cordial as well. I'm glad this place is here and look forward to coming back next time I'm in town!

Social.....What a great ambience especially with your patio under the cottonwoods. There was a guitar player on the patio that added to the beautiful setting. Food was really good but needs a few tweaks....too many croutons in panzanella salad but the seared tuna and oyster rockefeller was stellar. Servers were nice but it was a bit slow. Overall still a nice experience and don't know why it is not more popular with that wonderful outdoor patio. We will be back!

We were looking for a Sunday brunch place nearby and looked on Yelp to see The Social started a Sunday brunch. It is located about a mile from our home. Some neighbors mentioned that a new manager had taken over and that it was worth a new try. The same building had housed a different restaurant by a different name. Then the same building housed The Social that was opened by different restaurateur but the restaurant closed - it had mixed reviews.... unfortunately for the new/ current manager this created a negative lingering overhang/stigma on the newly established "The Social". Because of the proximity we decided to try it. The brunch was so good that we decided to try dinner. We met the new manager Michael who we recognized as the former manager from the country club. He did a great job at the club and has brought this skill to The Social. Once word of his new chefs gets out, we hope we'll still be able to get a table... great addition to the neighborhood.

I am very impressed with the new chef and the new leadership at The Social. I was very discouraged with this place a year ago- bad service, bad food... Now- it's all different. For dinner, they bring in fresh fish- I actually saw the chef carrying it in. The halibut is prepared so well- never over-cooked. The plating and dish ingredients are well planned and very tasty. The wine selection has also improved. As for brunch, also a great experience. Narrow and well- planned menu makes it very enjoyable!

We stopped by for Sunday brunch. The food was amazing - delicious, perfectly cooked, and great portions. The eggs on my benedict were so well cooked and beautiful I almost felt bad eating such art. (They tasted just as amazing!) The staff seemed a little distracted - we arrived right when they opened and the staff was still prepping the restaurant - but it is only a minor nit. One negative point was that the 'background' music was quite loud. The outside patio looked inviting and would be great for a summer dinner or late drinks. This location will likely become a regular stop for us.

What a great surprise! We cancelled a brunch reservation in Denver due to the weather (we live in Elizabeth) and looked for something closer. My family ordered the Social burger, the Blast (BLT), grilled artichoke and wings apps. All were delicious, with the burgers being especially good. The Social is beautiful inside, with a large outside patio area which we look forward to in good weather. Our server was very nice, the only negative was that it took a while for our food to be served. It wasn't busy at all. However, once our food arrived, we truly enjoyed our lunch. Will definitely be back!

**NOTICE**: this place has switched the game up in the last month, so prior reviews may not be relevant. Chiefly due to the new chef they have brought in from SD. We were recommended this place from a colleague on the criteria of a place near the suburbs that wasn't in a strip mall, a chain, and a place you could take someone on a nice date. We arrived at The Social and dug the ambience. Def a setting for adults on a Saturday night. The staff was welcoming and the menu offered a great selection of American Contemporary cuisine. With it being Derby season, we started with mint juleps and Moscow Mules. Both made from scratch and quite delicious. We then ordered two entrees: the prime rib, which came with garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini and the scallops over braised pork belly. The prime rib was served wonderfully at medium rare, and the sides made it quite a great dish. The scallops were well-sized and the pork belly was fabulous - not an exorbitant amount of fat like some cuts. Both dishes were a fraction of the price you'd have to pay at Elways's or Sullivans's and very good quality. The chef, Austin, came out to greet us towards the end of the meal. He was very open, appreciative, and wanted feedback on the dinner. With being the head chef for the last few weeks, he is making it a priority to ensure diners are getting the very best experience, which we did. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone that enjoys a good meal, great drinks, and an amazing ambience,

Other than $2. off wine and beer happy hour drink prices are not discounted -terrible wings - the grilled artichoke was good but other food offers are just so-so. With the many many GREAT small plate happy hour restaurants in the Castle Rock area, The Taste of Mexico directly across the street, one does NOT need to leave with a $60. bill. I now know not to visit this establishment.

Probably the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in Colorado. We were there during lunch, the restaurant was empty, yet the service was slow and lazy, the food took over an hour to come out, and when it did it was terrible. Can't imagine this place lasts much longer. Go anywhere else.

I'd heard a lot about the chef and we were very excited to go here with some friends on a Friday night. The food was very good. Unfortunately, the service was really really poor. Our server was inattentive, kind of spacey, and didn't seem to know much about the menu. When I asked what beers were on tap she replied "Oh, I don't know. They just changed and didn't put them on the menu. You can get up and look at the taps if you want." Hmmkay. She knew nothing about the wine, and when the first one we picked was out, she had no suggestions for an alternate. She missed asking for the temperatures on our steaks - just off. Like she was a friend with no experience just doing them a favor and filling in. Finally, and I get more irritated by this the more I think about it, we were overcharged, by a pretty large amount. I don't mean "it's too expensive for what you get", (though that could be argued). I mean our receipt read "(5) Entrees OPEN MENU @ $32". Two big problems that: There were only four of us. And only one of us ordered a $32 entree, the rest were cheaper. I want to believe that was an honest mistake - but it's really a stretch to see how that accidentally happens. UPDATE - I was contacted by the owner as a follow up to my review. I certainly wasn't looking for that as I don't need my ring kissed. While I can't justify changing the review as it stands, but I can say how much a appreciate being contacted and invited back. That didn't have to happen and I respect that. I see enough stellar reviews, maybe we just hit a really rough night. We will be back.

My husband and I were looking for a last minute place to have dinner on Valentine's Day. He called around 4pm and got us a reservation for 8:30pm. When we got there it was obvious they were backed up, but we didn't mind since we had booked so late. The owner came out and apologized and even served everyone waiting for tables some Prosecco on the house. Even though we ended up waiting ~45 minutes past our reservation time we had a wonderful meal and left very satisfied. We moved to Parker from Denver last year and have been trying to find something that compares to the downtown restaurants we were used to, and The Social definitely hit the mark that day. Because we enjoyed it so much we suggested that we meet my mom, stepdad and brother there for dinner this past Saturday night. We called again last minute and made a reservation about an hour in advance. Our reservation was for 7:15 and we were sat right on time and the restaurant was only about half full. Our waiter was a little slow to get us drinks and appetizers, but everything was delicious. After the appetizer came things started going downhill. We had finished the appetizer before our server came back to take our orders. After he took our orders we sat and waited for about 30 minutes before our salads came out, and then we had to wait another 30 minutes for our entrees after the salads were done. Our server was pretty much nonexistent for the majority of the wait time, and he did not act like it was abnormal for him to be gone so much or for the wait to be so long. My stepdad eventually flagged him down and asked him for some bread. He did apologize for our long wait after that and mentioned the kitchen was having some trouble. We were seated in a booth right next to the kitchen and my stepdad noticed a lot of servers seemed to be standing around waiting for food. Our food finally came out and it was nearly 9pm. Most of our dishes looked very appetizing, but the way mine was plated was a little off-putting. I ordered the scallops that were supposed to come with roasted cauliflower, a toasted quinoa salad, butternut squash puree, and arugula. In the center of the plate there was a spoonful of butternut squash puree smeared across the plate. The scallops were placed in a half circle around the bottom edge of the plate, alternated with the cauliflower. Instead of arugula there was some very bitter green leaf lettuce torn into mangled pieces and places over some of the cauliflower. There was no toasted quinoa on my plate either, and the server never mentioned anything about being out of it. The butternut squash puree was also very cold and almost dry, like it had been put on the plate 20-30 minutes before the scallops were cooked. The scallops and the cauliflower were cooked very well and tasted really good, despite the other issues with my plate. My husband ordered the seared gnocchi which was dry and rubbery, and he even had to ask for extra sauce because he could hardly eat it. I think he only ended up eating about a quarter of it before giving up. My brother got the duck ravioli that had wonderful flavor, but the pasta was still raw and needed at least 3 more minutes of cooking. My mom had the street tacos which were very yummy, and my stepdad ordered the special, which was a crab sandwich and didn't seem to have any complaints. For dessert we ordered the blondie, which we also had on Valentine's Day so we knew it was a hit. The dessert was the saving grace of the meal. Overall the meal took 2.5 hours. The entire family was disappointed with the service and the wait time, and even some of the food, so we were a little surprised when the bill came...nothing had been comp'd and there were very little apologies made. The manager/owner never came by to check on us during our entire time there, and we only received one tiny apology from our server which made the experience worse than it could have been. As for the food we feel like the flavors were mostly there, but the execution could have used a little more work. I don't think my parents will return, but my husband and I will probably give it another shot in hopes they were just having an off night.

While the food was decent and the menu had imagination, I'm not impressed. We started with some drinks. The server was uneducated and couldn't even name what was on draft. My husband resorted to getting up and checking out the drafts himself. I ordered off of the drink menu and was immediately attracted to the social light. It was described as containing kettle orange, soda water, with a hint of cranberry juice and lime. However it ended up being a flat tasteless warm concoction that I ended up sending back. Nonetheless, back to the menu with imagination...we ordered capresé salad, muscles, and sliders with peanut butter jelly and green chili on them. all were ok. The tomatoes in the salad would be inappropriate to serve the next day (aka almost rotten), and the peanut butter was overwhelming on the sliders, therefore making it more of a novel idea than actually complementary to the dish. However, in the end when we received our bill, we were charged for my nasty flat drink that took our mediocre experience to a sucky one. Bad execution of too many things means they tried too hard to be good and were bad at it. Too bad...2.5 stars.

Finally, city-like dining in the burbs. Great menu concept listing light to heavy dishes as you move across the page so you can gauge how much to order. We had excellent heirloom melon salads with an interesting mint, salt and almond dusting. The lamb was some of the best we've had. Service felt in new/learning phase, but that we'll over look...for now. The only other nit is they could expand and improve the wine offerings a bit. Otherwise, we can't wait to go again. Thanks for coming out south. We need more places like this one. Excellent!

I really, REALLY want this place to be good. It is new and different and a step up from the general chain vibe in Castle Rock. They really started with rocky beginnings. Cold food, crummy service, and food that, while creative, never stood up to the expectation the menu created. We gave it a few tries at the beginning and then stopped coming. Now they recently posted on Facebook that they have updated management, chefs and a new plan for creating a good and unique experience. So we decided to give them another chance... Ambience: other than the lack of people, they have this down. Warm and inviting restaurant with a modern feel. music is just right and a very cute bar. Service: Much better than before. Our server was attentive and even excited to see us there. she tried to drum up business and invited us back next weekend, which to me shows that she cares about her job and place of employment. Food: This is where they just cannot get their ducks in a row. They have now changed their menu to basic diner fare taking out everything from the previous menu that made them unique and exciting. Food was poorly executed with unbalanced flavors and textures. Their sliders are the one standout on the menu that has always been good, but I don't recommend branching out from there. Website: Keep your menus up to date! We were really disappointed to get to the restaurant after scoping out the menu online, and see that only a few of the items matched and that anything involving creativity had been left off the menu. It starts the experience off on a bad foot if the dish you were looking forward to doesn't even exist. Please get this figured out! The restaurant across the street does the basics and has mediocre food but is successful. Don't repeat that. Stick with your original plan of organic, locally sourced food for foodies. I'm sick of driving to Denver for that. I want something exciting and new, but just because it sounds tasty on the menu doesn't make it good in real life. Serve it warm and in a timely manner. It is totally doable even in Castle Rock. Let us know when you figure it out so I can go back and give you another try.

Very disappointing! The menus were completely different than what was on OpenTable. They had a small, handwritten menu with a steak dish, a salmon dish and a pasta dish plus a burger, steak wrap and chicken wrap. And then just a few appetizers and sides. They were out of the wine I wanted and they were out of the mashed potatoes I wanted. Really? You have the smallest menu ever, and you're still out of things? I ended up with the chicken wrap: they were okay - no better than a mediocre sandwich shop quality wise and twice the price. We both left having paid for an expensive meal and still hungry. Service was poor - I agree with the review said they staff seemed to prefer to socialize with each other than help the customers. Our waters were empty the entire meal. I added a star because I did like the atmosphere, but two stars is pretty generous.

My family ate there last night and started with the poke. The contrast of the crispy wontons and silky ahi along with the ponzu sauce was incredible. The pistachio encrusted Brie served with a dried strawberry jam and home-made focaccia was absolutely delicious. The Chefs Trio, Cured Scottish Salmon and Braised Pork Belly with roasted Apple were great. My absolute favorite was the Seared Albacore served over a warm bean salad. The creamy beans with, lightly spicy sauce with the perfectly seared albacore was amazing. All through the meal, I was aware of the careful combination of textures and tastes that complimented the food perfectly. Chef Austin Hornsby came out to meet us and ask about our dining experience. He told us that he came to The Social in April and has since updated the menus. If you haven't eaten there lately, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I look forward to the days where I can sit with family & friends, watch the snow fall and enjoy a good meal...which is exactly what we did today, to celebrate our moms :) We booked a reservation for a party of 7 for Mother's Day Brunch, and found things to be great overall. Here's the breakdown: Star 1: The food was great :) We noshed on the buffet items which ranged from eggs benedict and french toast, to homemade biscuits and fresh fruit. This place fills up fast, and in turn, the food goes quickly, but everything tasted delicious to the last bite! Star 2: The interior is country chic and super cute, with a little party room on the side. We were seated in the side car area, filled with tables and chairs and fresh flowers. So sweet and a little slice of heaven :) Star 3: Location is gorgeous. Nestled right in the Castle Pines neighborhood, close to the golf course and featuring an adorable patio, I really liked the look and feel of this place, inside and out. can't wait to try it in the summer! HOWEVER: Prices were a little too high for all we received at this buffet. $20 for a buffet that didn't get replenished often? That ran out of plates? Being a server, i understand how mass quanitites of people equals panic mode/replenishing quickly, but I easily felt like they were understaffed. Service was decent. Our server was nice, but didn't really show his face often. We flagged him down numerous times for more coffee, water, and our bill. Overall, I'd def give this place another try. Mother's day is quite the busy holiday, so can't judge a place for being too popular :)

Can't say enough good things about this establishment. The lamb steaks were excellent and the manager, Michael, is doing a phenomenal job creating an excellent experience in the Castle Pines area.

The atmosphere is very laid back and a little modern. The service at the bar was great, our server was very attentive, and the green tea mojito is quite refreshing. I ordered the lamb which was very tasty and slightly undercooked for my taste. My husband ordered the burger and it was slightly overcooked for his taste. We ordered the smoked salmon dip as an app and it was excellent, but really need more than four pieces of toast with it. The happy hour specials are a great deal. Overall, great service and very good food. Slightly overpriced even with a Groupon or happy hour specials.

It's ok Beer selection is great. Food is pretty good but also pretty expensive. The thing I really don't like it the music on Fridays and Saturday nights. It's hard to hear your family or friends with the music blaring. I've tried visiting on both Fri and Sat nights to avoid the loud music scene but it seems like it's both nights.

The atmosphere is good and the menu has a little something for everyone, which is refreshing. Also thought the happy hour apps and drinks were well done. Now for the other side of the coin. Anyone who enjoys a good meal also appreciates good service. In most cases great service can make a good meal taste even better. Of course this also means that poor slow service can make a good meal leave a bad taste in your mouth. Let me simple say that on this night the service was poor and slow. What a shame, the place has potential. Let's face it, a good menu and chef is easily spoiled by below average restaurant management and service. Let's call this an opportunity for improvement.

It has been a few months since we came in for brunch. The menu use to be really good but the service was always terrible. We decided to give them another shot. The patio was nice, it was pretty quite so we thought the service might be ok. We were wrong the service is still terrible we didn't see our server but a few times. My husband ordered a side of toast and the server had forget it finally got it once his meal was already eaten I was surprised to see that he still charged him for it. I had the pork belly it was pretty good but not great. My husband had the steak and eggs for $22 bucks you would think it would be awesome but was mediocre. I want to like this place because the inside is so cute but I just don't think we can come back again.

Great atmosphere and service with fresh, quality food. What else could you ask for? We ate off the brunch menu. It was my first time having steak and eggs...always wondered what it was like. Now I know. Delicious! We stopped here on our way back from Castle Rock...and are so glad that we did!

So let me start off by saying, I used to love this place. Innovative. Local ingredients. Pricy, but totally worth the money. We used to go all the time and always left satisfied. Over the months, this place has gotten progressively worse and tonight was the final straw. We waited over two hours to eat mediocre (and that's being incredibly generous) food. Keep in mind, we didn't order any appetizers or desserts. Just a glass of wine, the mussels, the Thai chicken, and two salads. When the food finally came out more than an hour later, it was not as described on the menu. It's really hard to screw up mussels, but somehow they managed by putting what appeared to be canned pineapple chunks in the broth. Additionally, the service was awful. Our waitress appeared three times: to take our drink order, to act bewildered that our food hadn't arrived an more than an hour after arriving, and to take our check. Anyway, I hope this place gets their act together. It used to be great.

Overpriced bad food. Poor and inattentive service. Not nearly as good as the old Rodney's it replaced. Not an entree on the menu under $22.

Took several gal pals there for happy hour, , touting the excellent happy hour. Despite still advertising their happy hour menu on their website, their happy hour was discontinued and menu in flux. They did offer us slightly reduced pricing from regular menu. Tasty food but frankly overpriced. The waiter was very gracious and gave us good service, which is hard to do when you have six women talking about how the no-happy-hour sucked, and I was apologizing for costing them twice as much as they'd planned, etc. It wasn't his fault but he had to deal with us. So, here's where we are: instead of me bringing lots of friends by to try this place for its tasty food, this restaurant has six dining-out ladies who probably won't be coming back or recommending it to their friends. Simply because they decided not to honor their advertised happy hour menu. I'm disappointed because this looked like it might become a regular spot for us!

This place isn't too bad at all. However, it is a bit under par for the neighborhood it is in. The place itself is very nice - It's nice, clean, modern, and is very welcoming. Normally, this promises a lot. My expectations were high for this place, and they weren't really met. The staff there really were not doing their job correctly. They mostly sat around, talked, and tried to act as if they were not even doing their job. Our waiter Vinny, on the other hand, was most likely the employee of the month for quite a long time. He was nice, friendly, and supportive despite the flaws we were given. I ordered the brunch burger sliders, and I enjoyed them, despite the 45-60 minute wait (There was only 1 chef in the kitchen while we were there!). The rest of my family had mixed opinions - My brother enjoyed his steak, and my dad thought his eggs and ham were just fine. However, my mom was horrified by the green chile and pork. They accidentally put sugar instead of salt in it (oops!). The manager was very sorry that this happened, so at least he and Vinny cared about working here. Overall, this place could use some room for improvement. We may have just walked in on a bad day, but this wasn't the best dining experience. If it gets better reviews after I post this, I may change this review.

We went here for dinner because of a deal on yelp and we were very pleased. The food was very well prepared and the drinks were even better. They have a limited menu but they do it well. I had the 8oz sirloin and I could cut it with a butter knife. My girlfriend had the grilled salmon and it was very tender. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was very mellow with a live guitarist soloing while we ate.

The service was fantastic! The bartender was so sweet, and checked in to make sure the cocktail I ordered was to my liking. Also, it was a generous pour, I must say! The menu was eclectic, and the "shareables" are a good deal. Lots of food for a reasonable price. They could stand to have a few more choices on the menu, but overall, we had great drinks, and food at a typical price for the area. The standout was the service, for sure. Sweet girls who went above and beyond to tend to their tables!

The Social was really disappointing. I had purchased a Groupon and I am glad I did as if I had paid full price for our meal I would have been upset. The food was extremely expensive and there was not much of a selection. We had to request my son's meal 10 minutes after our dishes arrived because the waiter had forgotten that we had another meal. My chicken was undercooked-not pink to where I would send it back, but chewy. In hindsight I should have said something, but was afraid I would never get food back on the table in front of me. Our waters were never refilled, we were never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or beer and it took 15 minutes and about 6 walks past our table for the waiter to notice we were waiting to pay. Maybe this place is better for appetizers or happy hour, but I sure won't be returning to find out!

When I first discovered the social over a year ago, I had an absolutely incredible lunch there. The food was adventurous, and all of the ingredients in the dishes I had felt like they were thought out and belonged together. I promptly came back with my wife, and she loved it. Dinner didn't disappoint either - the menu felt seasonal and farm fresh. Even the wine list was impressive, and the waitress recommended excellent pairings with our food. Fast forward a year. My wife and I have a rare night without the kids and decide to go to the Social. It still looks hip and modern, but the experience was nothing short of a complete letdown. We had 7:00 reservations, and we arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar. The drinks were way too strong - double shots in rocks glasses instead of single shots. We were seated, and were immediately disappointed when we checked out the menu. Gone was the adventurous menu that we loved last year. In its place was a very ordinary, uninspired list of common dishes. Same with the wine list - the selection was disappointing, especially the whites. We ordered the calamari to start, which was actually very good. Next we shared a Caprese salad, which wasn't bad but lacked depth of flavor. The lamb, however, turned out to be a poor choice. $30 for two small, thin chops that were very overcooked (meat was grey). Dessert was fine, but ordinary (blondie with ice cream, chocolate mouse cake with raspberry coulis). And the red wine that we ordered to have with our lamb arrived 5 mins after the lamb. But the most disappointing part was the atmosphere. The walls into the kitchen, which was right by our table, were falling apart (there were sheetrock crumbles on the floor); they left the backdoor open for a while on a 30 degree evening and my wife and I had to move next to each other to keep warm (we told the waitress and she just said that they're unloading some stuff and it will be closed shortly); a waitress who ended her shift sat at the bar in sweatpants with a bottle of wine sitting next to her; and the wait staff kept their purses and jackets in the booth next to ours and kept coming by to check their phones and send texts. Overall, not the experience we were hoping for (or paid for - our bill was $145) on a rare date night. Unfortunately, based on my experience last night and other recent reviews, we won't be returning. It's sad to see your favorite local restaurant turn into such a letdown.

We decided to try The Social as it's close to home and we love the location and decor. We really want this restaurant to succeed. First, we looked online at the menu and when we arrived the menu was totally different. Ok, we move on and want to order a bottle of Chardonnay. They offer 3 bottles by the glass or bottle - we try to order 2 of those 3 and they are out - on a Friday night! So we switch to a bottle of Pinot Gris and they are out if that as well!! Finally, I just had a Coke. We did have the southwest taco wrap and it was very good. The new front of the house manager, Michael, stopped by our table to appologize. It's his 2nd day on the job and asks us to come by in 30 days. We will try again, I just hope the owners have enough financial backing to make this work. Could be be a great place !

My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, it's close to our house and the menu looked amazing. We were extremely let down, the food was way overpriced for the quality you get. My boyfriend got the pork belly, which should melt in your mouth, instead it was dry and tough and came with a bunch of random fried unidentifiable sides. I got the filet and it came out way over cooked, they took it back and it was better the second time but lacked real flavor...I've had better steaks at Outback for half the price. I will say that the service was top notch but unfortunately the food was not worth going back for.

We went here for the brunch this past Sunday. It was fantastic!! The food was really good. The service (Ellie) was friendly and attentive. The manager came by and informed us that they will be opening for lunch very soon. Can't wait! I had the French Dip and it was the best I have had anywhere. My husband had a burger and also said it was one of the best he has had. This is a great place with a great menu and a great staff. We will be back.

Really good food and service. In the past this restaurant has been less than stellar. However with a new chef and good management our meal last night was as good as anything in downtown Denver. My wife had the scallops and I had the rack of lamb. Both were done perfectly and tasted wonderful. We ordered a side of the roasted Brussels sprouts which were terrific. The service was excellent, with the manager visiting several times to see how things were going and to explain the changes in the kitchen. We highly recommend you give The Social a try.

The atmosphere was sort of rustic american, but not over the top. Menu had a good selection, not overwhelming in choices. Main courses were reasonable portions (not heaped full of food) - but the food wasn't spectacular. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't amazing.

This restaurant is fabulous! The menu was exciting and the food was delicious. The brussel sprouts, in particular, were to die for. We also really enjoyed the duck ravioli, the roasted chicken sandwich, and the shrimp linguini. Loved the ambience and decor. It had a trendy yet cozy feel. They played good music and the service was great. Will definitely be back!

The name is fitting, a great place to have dinner with friends and try a diverse menu. Loved the beet salad, ahi tuna, mussels, and flank steak. Creative drinks, an affordable wine list and don't miss the dessert! A refreshing well thought out concept for Denver, but it happens to be in Castle Rock!

Yummm!! My fiance and I shared a few things, my favorites were the carrot soup and the braised short rib. Both absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very nice & relaxing & the service was on point. I love when smaller areas build up with local, seasonally focused restaurants!

Took my three adult boys to brunch on a beautiful Sunday morning. The place had maybe 5 tables with a total of 15 people. We sat outside which was very pleasant. That's about where pleasant ended. It took forever to get a glass of water. We ordered mimosas and coffee to start - another long wait to get the mimosas and the coffee didn't make it. Our server was apologetic and we didn't give her a hard time, but getting coffee to a table in the morning is kind of important. We placed our order. Our coffee when it finally came was not refilled, neither were the waters. They were out of strawberries for the strawberry pancakes so the kids ordered pancakes with raspberries. After waiting forever, the food finally came out. Lukewarm. Burned. Raw. Six, count them, six raspberries on the very small pancakes. My son's pancakes were burned but raw on the inside - goopy actually. His eggs had the spice from my other son's dish on them. He had to send it back. After the 3 of us were done, his new plate came back, pancakes - no eggs. "Oh, did you still want the eggs?" All in all, a dreadful experience which cost $64 for 4 people for a lousy breakfast. It wasn't entirely the waitress's fault, although I'm not sure why she couldn't replenish coffee or water - but she did say that several people had just up and quit without giving notice and they were short-staffed. However, the place was fairly empty and the other waitress did not pick up the slack either. Never a good sign of decent management when the wait staff ups and quits. This is a shame as I live within walking distance and would just love to have a pleasant, upscale place to go. This was our 3rd try. They're out.

Terrible service - waited 30 minutes to get a glass of water, food came out at 1 dish per person at a time (and it wasn't good). The $15 cheese plate had 3 hunks if cheese, 4 crackers and 10 grapes - the French fries were served hot, greasy and amazingly not cooked all the way thru. Too bad, good location - bad food and service.

We really want this place to succeed but after several tries; we just can't go back. We went for brunch and the place was about 1/3 full but they didn't have any coffee cups! Our coffee was served in water glasses. Food was OK but it took forever. At dinner we have been served warm Chardonnay, super dry chicken strips, chopped salad that was not chopped with huge carrots and bland, heavy on the tomato paste, pasta. Just very weak. Owner is nice when he's there but the food and service are just not good.

I desperately wanted to love The Social. It's someone's life's work, and it's a nice stylish restaurant in our neighborhood. The food is pretty good, atmosphere is nice, drink list has a few novelties. But - we had one of those experiences there last night that felt like it just wasn't meant to be. We've all seen it happen somewhere. The place was hopping on a Friday night, and it was clear when we got there that the size of the crowd would strain their execution. It was like they didn't know we were there. They did seat us promptly (with a reservation). After that, we couldn't get the attention of a server. Couldn't get a drink. Couldn't find anyone to take our order. Someone finally took our order, then we never saw that person again. At one point I had to get up and order a drink from the bar myself. Midway through, I spoke with the manager, who is also the owner, and told her things weren't going well. She apologized, but nothing changed. No server ever visited our table again. When we finally both stood up to leave...then they immediately offered to bring the check. It bothered me that the threat of having a customer skip a check was the only thing that got their attention. I hope for good things at The Social, and I might try it again some time. But the experience last night is not one I would want to have again.

Totally recommend going here. Excellent food, great ambiance, good service, and by far the most "up-to-date" dining experience in the Castle Rock/Castle Pines area. The menu is small, appears to change regularly, with a staff who is knowledgeable of it, and most importantly pretty reasonably priced. Gourmet- check, hip-check, my new Castle Rock go to-check. Bravo. Hopefully the next review can be a 5 star, seeing a few more faces at the restaurant at peak dinner time would probably do just that.

Sad when a potentially good, local place tries to be a local party place and fails miserably. Went today for the neighborhood Cinquo de Mayo "block party." Not sure what happened 'cause it wasn't as if this event snuck up on them but from the hostess to the underage(!!!) "bartender" to the nonexistent and apparently incompetent waitstaff everything was not working. I can only imagine the chaos and craziness that must have been happening in the kitchen. Saw multiple tables sit down then leave without food, confusing and wrong food arriving at the tables, just a total cluster f*ck. Can't comment on the food because we never got ours after 30+ minutes. We stood up and left. Sad and unfortunate -- looks like a potentially good place that needs to figure out how to run a restaurant.

Must say we attended the Cinco de Mayo celebration at The Social tonight -the band, The Nachoman was 100 star, tacos definitely 10 star, marg's so so, tons of peeps - a bit more organization would have been helpful - I think the crowd overwhelmed the establishment - hope they plan more parties with this band and more organized eating for all.

Went to the social last night for Halloween with my kids. Not only did they have a great kids menu but the food was outstanding, our server Tori was decked out in a costume and was very personable and prompt.

A little out of the way, but worth the drive. Met Miles, the guy that runs the place, and he was very accommodating. Wine list was good, food was fantastic. We ordered a bunch of things and shared with the group.

Nice atmosphere for Castle Rock, good small plates and good drinks. Touch on the spendy side for what you get.

Excellent!

The name is fitting, a great place to have dinner with friends and try a diverse menu. Loved the beet salad, ahi tuna, mussels, and flank steak.

The music was great and we really liked the interior decor. We will for sure be going back. Awesome beer selection, wine list and menu!!!!

A little out of the way, but worth the drive. Met Miles, the guy that runs the place, and he was very accommodating. Wine list was good, food was fantastic. We ordered a bunch of things and shared with the group.

Excellent!

Great atmosphere and service with fresh, quality food. What else could you ask for? We ate off the brunch menu. It was my first time having steak and eggs...always wondered what it was like. Now I know. Delicious! We stopped here on our way back from Castle Rock...and are so glad that we did!

We went to The Social on a Monday night to celebrate a birthday and had an excellent time. Very trendy interior, tasty cheese plate appetizer, and solid entrees. There weren't too many people in the restaurant so service was good and food came out quickly.

The music was great and we really liked the interior decor. We will for sure be going back. Awesome beer selection, wine list and menu!!!!
